How To Use WPS Office’s Translation Feature

WPS Office comes with a powerful integrated translation tool that enables users to translate text seamlessly across documents, spreadsheets, and presentations without leaving the application. This functionality is ideal for students, professionals, and multilingual teams.



First, load the target document into WPS Office. Then, highlight the portion of text you want to convert—a single word, a phrase, or multiple lines. Once highlighted, go to the Review tab on the top toolbar. There, you’ll see the Translate button. Select it to launch the translation interface.



The translation panel slides in from the right side of the screen, displaying the chosen content alongside a dropdown for target languages. The system works with a wide array of languages like Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and many additional options. After choosing your target language, the tool instantly generates a translation. You can then review the output and choose to insert it directly. Use the Insert button to replace the source with the translation. You can also copy it to use independently outside the document.



For full-document translation, use the Translate Document option in the same menu. This feature translates all content while maintaining formatting, layout, and structure. While the AI-driven engine is highly advanced, it may not fully grasp idioms, cultural context, or niche terminology. When working with professional or specialized materials, manually check and polish the translation.



Adjust your preferred translation languages in the settings. Navigate to the Settings menu and choose Language Preferences. Then, select your default source and target languages. It ensures quicker, more consistent results across all your projects.
