WPS Spreadsheet allows you to quickly set up a functional timesheet that helps individuals and tiny teams record daily work hours without relying on advanced applications

Begin by launching WPS Spreadsheet and initiating a fresh, empty document

Set up the first row with clearly labeled columns including Date, Start Time, End Time, Break Duration, Total Hours, and Remarks

These headers will organize your data and make it easier to read and update

Make sure every column is wide enough to display its full content by resizing as needed

Hover over the edge of any column header and drag it left or right to expand the space

Select the Date cells, access the Format Cells menu via right-click, and apply the standard date format YYYY-MM-DD

Format the Start Time and wps官网 End Time cells using the Time setting to validate entries like 09 00 and 17 30

Place a calculation formula in the top cell of the Total Hours column

With Start Time in B, End Time in C, and Break Duration in D, input the formula = (C2 - B2 - D2) 24

It calculates the net work hours by removing start and break durations from the end time, then scales the result to hours using 24

Always enter times using the 24-hour system to prevent miscalculations

After entering the formula, press Enter and then drag the fill handle down to apply the formula to all rows in the column

For tracking multiple staff members or multiple shifts per day, place an Employee Name column immediately to the left of the Date column

It allows you to distinguish each person’s hours and simplifies future sorting or filtering operations

Use the Notes field to jot down quick annotations such as "Overtime", "Holiday", or "Sick Leave"

Enhance readability by adding cell borders and bolding the header row for visual distinction

Highlight the top row, press Bold, then apply borders using the Borders menu to outline every cell

Consider giving the header row a soft tint to make it stand out from the rest of the table

Always save frequently and label your file informatively, e.g., Employee Timesheet October 2024

To print the timesheet, go to the Print Preview option and adjust margins and scaling so that everything fits neatly on the page

Select the rows you want to print and assign them as the Print Area for targeted output

Develop a regular schedule for maintaining and updating your timesheet

Insist that all staff record their daily hours promptly to reduce inaccuracies and omissions

Convert your completed timesheet into a reusable template by saving it in WPS Template format

You’ll be able to generate fresh versions each month with no need to recreate columns or formulas

This minimalistic approach delivers a dependable tracking system with zero need for advanced tools or lengthy instruction
